I saw this show on opening night and was absolutely floored. While staying true to Jonathan Larson's iconic masterpiece, David Cromer was able to create a fresh and incredibly intimate production.
This production even managed to make two of my least favorite pieces from the original wildly entertaining. Cromer and Aileen May (Maureen) transformed Over The Moon from an often grating and superfluous scene into a true performance art piece. I also preferred this rendition of Contact to the original.
The acting was superb and the vocals/music were excellent. Grace Gealey (Mimi)and Alan Schmuckler (Mark) stole the show.
Go see it with someone you love.
