A “Clothing and Textile Recycling Drive” to aid the environment will be held at Ezra-Habonim, the Niles Township Jewish Congregation. Clothing that is somewhat worn, stained, faded or torn is all acceptable. Clothing that is in good condition will be donated to those in need. Material that is not in good shape will be re-purposed; that is torn into rags or broken down to make filler. Items needed include shirts, blouses, dresses, pants, jackets, coats and suits. Also acceptable are pajamas, undergarments, socks and sweats pants. Linens such as sheets, towels, wash-cloths, drapes, curtains, bed sheets and blankets can be donated as well. Purses and complete pairs of shoes and boots are acceptable, too. Clean material should be brought to the synagogue in plastic bags; sorting and processing will be done by Chicago Textile Recycling and Wipeco, Inc. For information, call Ezra-Habonim, the Niles Township Jewish Congregation.
