From 1920 to 1933 our country tried a grand social experiment that not only failed but also led to unintended criminal consequences. There was no time to celebrate the end of that experiment because both our economy (the Great Depression) and our agricultural environment (soil erosion and drought) were ravaged. These caused massive migrations and anti-migrant confrontations. Gary Midkiff presents the story of these two phenomena.
