All veterans, their families and residents are invited to attend this event. In recognition of the centennial of the “war to end all wars,” John Atwood focuses his remarks on those who fought and sacrificed for the cause of  World War One. Veterans Day was originally named Armistice Day. It is celebrated on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month to commemorate the end of the War in 1918. In the United States, Veterans Day has evolved into a celebration of the veterans of all our wars.
