My Fucking Scene Partner Didn't Learn Their Lines One knows the lines, the other is making it up! Under The Gun Theater and The New Colony announce a collaboration for a limited run. "My Fucking Scene Partner Didn't Learn Their Lines" will run Sundays 7:30pm Sept 20-Oct 11. The New Colony will reach back through its 7 years of original archives and choose scenes to be performed by their gifted ensemble members. Under The Gun will throw one of our talented Improvisers at them. TNC actors can't go off book, UTG improvisors have no idea what is coming next. "The New Colony's ensemble has been frustrated for years that their scene partners keep staying on script. We welcome this opportunity to finally put some spontaneity back into our scripted little lives." said TNC Co-Artistic Director Evan Linder. "Under The Gun is proud to be the fucking scene partner who can't learn their lines. Finally we will have an answer to all those people who ask us 'How much of that was scripted?' half, the answer is half," said UTG Artistic Director Kevin Mullaney The New Colony was founded in Chicago in 2008 and has already established itself as “one of Chicago’s essential off-Loop companies” (Chicago Tribune). Through the premiere of over twenty world premiere plays and musicals, The New Colony has cultivated a diverse audience of theatergoers eager to have a voice in the storytelling. Conversation, collaboration, and innovation remain at the heart of everything they produce. The New Colony’s work has been honored with a Jeff Award, Broadway in Chicago’s 2011 Emerging Theatre Award and Best Overall Production at the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival. The New Colony's plays have been produced in 30 U.S. states, 8 countries and have been translated in 3 different languages. Three of its world premiere plays are now published through Samuel French Inc. (5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche) and Chicago Dramaworks (Kate and Sam Are Not Breaking Up and The Bear Suit of Happiness). The New Colony is currently in residence at The Den Theatre for its seventh season of world premieres.
