Families welcome to explore and experience Japanese culture. Demonstrations in the McGinley Pavilion include the following: 10:30 a.m., Urasenke Chicago Association Tea Ceremony; 11:30 a.m., Anne Shimojima, Traditional Storytelling; 12:30 p.m., Kokyo Taiko, Taiko Drumming; and 1:30 p.m., Chicago Koto Group, Koto Harp. Hands-on activities include raking miniature dry gardens, trying chopsticks and practicing calligraphy. Geared towards children are craft projects including: uchiwa paper fans, Japanese kites and gyotaku fish prints.
