The increasing numbers of people living with dementia and the heightened public awareness of Alzheimer's and other disease have increased public concern about our own brain health. One might wonder, are misplaced car-keys or a forgotten first name first signs of a serious problem? This workshop assists participants in distinguishing between normal cognitive changes which are part of the aging process and many types of brain disorders which may cause dementia. Current research about risk factors and the reduction of risk for dementia will be discussed.
