As part of the two-day Light and Noir Fest in partnership with the Illinois Holocaust Museum, the theatre screens “Mildred Pierce” (from 1945), directed by Michael Curtiz. This film received five Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. It features Joan Crawford as a mother willing to do anything for her daughter – possibly even murder. Sunday’s post-screening discussions: Alison Cuddy, Associate Artistic Director of the Chicago Humanities Festival.
