The Highland Park Strings open their thirty-seventh season of classical music concerts featuring the music of Schumann and Beethoven, led by guest conductor Robert Hasty. Maestro Hasty conducts Ecuadorian cellist Francisco Vila and the 50 local musicians who comprise the Highland Park Strings in the Cello Concerto in A Minor, Op. 129, by Schumann, before the performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E –flat Major, Op. 55 (“Eroica”).  A preconcert conversation, “The Art of Listening,” led by expert Stephanie Ettelson takes place at 2 p.m., also at Highland Park High School. All ages are welcome to attend.
