Decades after its 1924 release, Erich Von Stroheim's silent classic, “Greed” continued to have profound impact. Based on Frank Norris' novel, "McTeague," “Greed” tells the story of three World War I-era Californians whose friendship is destroyed by avarice after one wins a lottery jackpot. This is part of the library's Classics on Wednesdays Film Series, presented in 35 mm, with live piano accompaniment by Dave Drazin.
