FUMC & Community to Create “Pinwheels for Peace.” Sunday, Sept. 17, First United Methodist of Des Plaines Sunday School and those who wish to participate from the community, will “plant” hand made pinwheels on the front lawn and offer up prayers for peace. These "planted" pinwheels will serve as a visual reminder, all week long, that we all may be instruments of joy and peace in our communities and homes, despite the disorder and violence we may witness or hear about.
