The film festival kicks off at Ten Thousand Villages-Evanston for some refreshments and discussion of the background information on the two films that the public will be viewing at Reba Place Church, “Connected by Coffee” and “Divine Chocolate.” “Connected by Coffee” tells the story of Latin American coffee farmers; “Divine Chocolate” is a short documentary telling how the chocolate travels from the cocoa farms of Ghana right to our stores. This event goes until 6 p.m. Ten Thousand Villages-Evanston also works with Latino Union/Café Chicago. Ten Thousand Villages-Evanston sells Café Chicago! As an added bonus, the public can purchase a raffle ticket for $10. The winner accompanies Cheryl Nester-Detweiler on a visit to the Minga Fair Trade Warehouse in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in the fall, lunch and more.
