Northwestern hosts a justice of South Africa’s highest court, Edwin Cameron. On Jan. 20, Cameron gives a speech focusing on South Africa's transition from an oppressive racist autocracy to an inclusive democracy under the world's most progressive Constitution. He'll offer reflections on the most notable successes as well as the biggest failures. In addition to and as part of his legal career, Cameron has been a prominent gay-rights and HIV/AIDS activist.
