Hear Cyndee Schaffer, author of the book Mollie’s War, talk about her mother Mollie Weinstein Schaffer’s service as a WAC (Women’s Army Corps) from 1943-1945. In addition, she will talk about working together with her mother and their process of getting Mollie’s inspiring story published. After the Coffee Talk, guests are welcome to view the exhibit, “World War II: Des Plaines and the War against Fascism,” which includes several military uniforms worn by Des Plaines residents, artifacts donated from the war, and information about home life and industry during WWII. The History Center has started a guest book and would love to include your comments about the exhibit and what life was like for your family during the war years.
