Civil War Reenactment Weekend When: Saturday, June 27 & Sunday, June 28 Where: Fischer Farm 16W680 Grand Ave., Bensenville Time: 10am-3pm Free event! Step back in time one hundred and fifty years during one of the most significant events in our history. There will be a rally for drills in the morning and a skirmish in the afternoon, as well as first-person presentations throughout the day. . Meet the soldiers . Hear President Abraham Lincoln . Meet Harriet Tubman . Listen to the music . Learn about civilian life . Firing of the cannon (11am, 12pm & 1pm) Special Presentation: “Atlanta, the March to the Sea” on Saturday, from 1-2pm. In the spring and summer of 1864, three Union armies led by William T. Sherman battled their way toward the city of Atlanta. The Confederates fought every step of the way. Join Brian Flora, retired United States diplomat and historian, as he looks at the capture of Atlanta, the March to the Sea, and how these momentous events have since been portrayed. Hamburgers, hotdogs, soft drinks, and more will be available for purchase.
