For most of its history, Chicago produced about one-third of the nation’s candy. Some of the candies made or invented here include Brach’s caramels, Mars Snickers bars, Wrigley’s gum, Cracker Jack, Baby Ruth bars, Tootsie Rolls, and the ever popular Frango Mints. History Leslie Goddard presents the history of these tasty treats and explore what made Chicago such an ideal location for candymakers. Based on the 2012 book by the same name, Leslie Goddard’s presentation is simply delicious.
