The Bolingbrook Arts Council presents a free lecture and craft workshop for those high school age and older. Seating is limited so on-line registration is required. “Masks disguise and transform one identity in order to reveal another,’ said Council member Regina McClay. The illustrated talk examines a range of masks from different geographic regions and time periods and is lead by Gisele Atterberry, art history professor in the Joliet Junior College Fine Arts Department. There is a time for Q&A as well as viewing of masks from personal collections. Attendees can pick up a blank mask to take home and decorate and may return the mask and description to the library’s information desk by Wednesday, Oct. 7 to be included in the month-long display celebrating Art Awareness Month.
