In 1939, Gertrude Pollitt narrowly managed to escape Nazi rule in Vienna. None of her family survived the war.  Pollitt worked with displaced Jewish children survivors.  Eventually moving to the United States, Dr. Pollitt was executive director of the Chicago-based Center for Psychoanalytic Study. A Glencoe resident for 40 years, she returns to the community to read from her book, “Children of Separation and Loss.”
