The Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra presents the winner of the Music Institute of Chicago Concerto Competition, Joshua Brown, 15. He performs Franz Waxman ’s “Carmen Fantasie,” a virtuoso showpiece for violin and orchestra. The program begins with the Carl Nielsen ”Maskerade Overture and Cockerel’s Dance” and concludes with “Serge Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27.”
