The Fulcrum Point New Music Project presents this annual show, along with the Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks organization and the Peace School. According to organizers, other events are scheduled to support the show:
At 3:45 p.m., a Call to Peace will be delivered in each of Chicago’s 77 neighborhoods to celebrate the International Day of Peace, with the Peace School inviting audience members "to send wishes, thoughts or prayers for peace" to each neighborhood. "As the neighborhoods are named one-by-one, the audience is invited to put their voices together and wish peace to each one."
From 4-5:30 p.m., the concert takes place, featuring works by Somei Satoh, Jacob TV, Thelonius Monk, Louis Andriessen, Fela Kuti and Horace Silver.
From 5:40-6:10 p.m., a Sunset Family-Friendly Peace Yoga event, led by the Peace School, is held on the lawn.
