The Les Turner ALS Walk for Life is a 2-mile walk along Chicago’s lakefront, starting at Soldier Field. Organizers bill this event as "a celebration of hope, courage and camaraderie," ... "an ideal way to support those affected by Lou Gehrig’s disease. Meteorologist Phil Schwarz of ABC7 and Kathy Hart of The Mix 101.9FM are the hosts of this event, which also includes entertainment, live music, food and children’s activities. Walk as a team or as an individual to support those living with or who've fallen victim to this disease. In the past dozen years, the Walk for Life has raised $9 million for this cause.
