At the edge of the Fox River Valley town of St. Charles, the Pheasant Run Resort & Spa is a rustic haven from frantic modern life. This year-around resort, with 473 guest rooms, offers a cornucopia of activities, attractions and entertainment. Renovations included a new main entrance to the resort, a redesigned ballroom, complete remodeling of the guest rooms located in the resort's golf wing, a new fitness center, a remodeled conference registration center, a new business center, and a new cafe overlooking the golf course and lake. Continuing renovations focus on the theater including added stadium seating for increased capacity and improved sightlines for all seats; state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems; an elevator; and new theater lobby. The expansion is expected to be completed by spring 2003.

The facility's 39,000-square-foot ExpoCenter accommodates conventions and trade shows; 42 meeting rooms are available for conferences. Business travelers will appreciate ironing boards, coffee pots and the full-service business center. Also on hand: a full-service spa, indoor and outdoor pools, Zanies Comedy Club, an 18-hole golf course, cross-country ski and bike trails and tennis, and volleyball and racquetball courts. The Pheasant Run Dinner Theatre features Broadway musicals accompanied by a themed menu. Dining choices include The Baker's Wife Restaurant (American fare, including pheasant) and the Atrium, which presents a Sunday champagne and jazz brunch.
