Last year's giant tree
It's smaller and slimmer this year, but the 55-foot tall tree still serves as the centerpiece of the 96th annual holiday spectacle. Festivities kick off with a performance by the CPS All-City Elementary Youth Chorus at 4 p.m.; Bonnie Hunt of NBC's "The Bonnie Hunt Show" and Mayor Daley flip the switch at 4:30 p.m.
