A savvy and enthusiastic staff, which includes several sommeliers, work the room at this loft-like West Loop wine bar. Guests can order by the flight, glass or bottle from a selection of more than 100 wines, many of them from boutique producers. In 2008, the spot overhauled its food offerings, moving from just cheese and desserts to a full menu featuring more substantial eats such as lemongrass and Thai basil mussels and filet mignon with dark chocolate mole. The kitchen staff sources many ingredients from local farmers, and items change seasonally. Everything's designed to be paired with wine and can be ordered downstairs in the bar as well as upstairs, where you'll find comfy couches, eclectic sounds and a breathtaking skyline view of downtown Chicago. The adjacent retail shop, Randolph Wine Cellars, offers wine, beer and spirits for purchase.
