Went on Sunday afternoon. The place looked promising. Had the "Sweet & Savory" cheese tasting, but the 3 selections were poorly chosen. There was no connection among them, and the 1st two were much too mild compared to the 3rd. I am a port drinker, and their by-the-glass options were very limited, and relatively low-quality. A Smith Woodhouse '95 LBV, Jonesy Tawny ($9/bottle at whole foods), and a 10 yr Tawny. Price was so high, and the service quite slow. Our server didn't even explain the cheeses to us, he just said "i recommend that one." Try Bin 36 for a better version of the same idea.
Report This ReviewMy hubby and I went here on a Saturday night and really enjoyed it. He got a glass of Cab and I got a pinot flight. We both really enjoyed our wines and the knowledge of our server. Additionally, we got a truffle flight, although neither of us are big chocolate people these small bites of chocolate were absolutely delicious and of excellent quality. I loved this place.
Report This ReviewWent with my boyfriend after a rather mediocre dinner at Fulton's on the River, and it was absolutely fantastic! Although pretty busy, our waiter was attentive and super helpful picking out wines and chocolates for us. He joked around and really made our dessert experience. Will definitely go back!!!
Report This ReviewThe wine list is great. Extensive and interesting. Atmosphere was great and the meat, cheese and chocolates were very good. High price tag though. A wine flight (3 - 2.5 oz pours) and a dessert plate will run you $30 easy. With tax and grat that's $40 for essentially a glass of wine and 3 pieces of chocolate. yikes.
We sat outside and while a great view, the service was really slow. kind of with out explination. Also, need to mention that we read the ad in the Red Eye about Sundays having blind wine flight tastings starting on the 13th. We went on the 13th for that and asked about it. The server said " the ad came out too early and they weren't really ready yet".
Not to be a jerk, but that's a bad asnwer. I understand things happen, but if you advertise something and can't come through on that then you should offer some alternative. Make your guest feel appreciated. I was shocked that nothing more was said about it.
Overall they have a great idea going there, but with the big price tag and the indifferent slow service i'll check out some other wine bar options next time around.
My fiance and I started going to Eno when it first opened and have gone once a month since. The first night we were soooo impressed we told all of our friends about it and we continue bring anyone who comes to visit from out of town to this cozy yet fun wine bar. Truely best of Chicago!
Report This ReviewStopped by with a bachlorette party on Saturday. They sent out a round of champagne for us and helped us choose a couple of great bottles of wine than fit our budget, which was pretty low. Great service and a great time. A little loud but most of the noise may have been coming from us!
Report This ReviewThe staff is incredibly rude. Our server was condescending. I will say that the wine and cheese were great, but the portions were so small they were basically invisible to the naked eye. The quince jam with the triple cream cheese is a must. If you go to this restaurant, brace yourself for bad service.
Report This ReviewI love this wine bar!! It is a very classy establishment, but doesn't put on any airs. I felt comfortable coming in straight from work and relaxing with some friends. The menu seems expensive at first, but there is something for everyone and the knowledgeable servers were friendly and helped me find something great in my price range. A unique find!
Report This ReviewI was so excited to try Eno. I went with a friend and had a great time. It is a little pricey but we knew that going in to it. It would be nice if there was a little more seating. I can see how they could fill up very fast. Totally recommend it to try at least once. I will definitely go back.
Report This ReviewRude, Rude, RUDE!! We came here post dinner for a nice, fun splurge. Although expensive, we were enjoying ourselves until the bill came. After paying, the waitress returned with our change and announced that they had people waiting for our table so could we finish up? We were shocked and decided to finish our conversation quickly and leave but we didn't get the chance because within 5 minutes a manager, we assumed, came to the table, tapped his fingers and started with, "Ladies, we really need this table..." With that, our evening came to a screeching halt. What should have been a lovely end to an evening with friends that don't get together that often turned into the rudest restaurant experience I've ever had. We weren't even there for an hour and we were asked to leave. Perhaps we didn't spend enough although it's hard not to with their prices. I would NEVER recommend this place.
