Old Timer's Restaurant and Lounge

Neighborhood: Loop
75 E. Lake St.

Chicago, IL 60601
312-332-3561
On the ground floor of a typical Loop office building, Old Timer's is a pocket of inexpensive eats and quiet consumption. The restaurant has all the appointments of a classic neighborhood diner, from the over-padded booths to the cream of chicken soup. Enter the lounge through a door between the cash register and the revolving glass pie case. Within is a dark, quiet bar shaped roughly like a horseshoe. Afternoons, municipal workers like to lean into the cushioned edge as they fill up on Miller or Murphy's. The game is always on the corner televisions, but volume is kept low so workday gripes can be easily shared.
