Took my wife in for a drink in May '06. Since my last visit in 2002,the bar now offers over-priced drinks with talentless pianist/singer with 2 tv's (wannabe sports bar??).Atmosphere not worth dropping in. Get better talent, ditch the tv's moderate drink prices a little & it could bounce back.
Report This ReviewWow, I went in there with a couple friends after a concert. The pianist was excellent- his singer, however, was drunk. She was visibly, clearly toasted. While this makes for its own kind of unique entertainment, it does not substitute for the quality music I was expecting to hear. Service was rushed, and our check was dropped off about 5 minutes after we were served our cocktails. We were never offered another drink, and our server appeared eager to clear our table ASAP to turn it over. I had heard a lot of great things about this place, but had a terrible experience. I will try it again, and hopefully I will be able to justify a much better review next time
Report This ReviewStopped in last Friday, the fish and chips were out of sight! Never thought of this for a typical bar food that went far beyond expectations.
Report This ReviewIt was a wonderful surprize to find in The Drake Hotel. I was alone for a business meeting and I was made feel so welcome by all the employees. I enjoyed the Bookbinder Soup and a Salmon Salad. Great Service!
Report This ReviewI always come in to the Coq d'Or and have done so for many years. The food and drink offered is always top class and the service is second to none.
Thanks to The Drake for keeping this wonderful bar and restaurant the way it was in the begining!
Bookbinder Soup, Reuben Sandwich and a glass of Bass was my order and I was very pleased with the service I received at the bar. The restaurant looks just like it did 30 years ago - wonderful.
Report This ReviewI attended a party for St. Patricks's Day on March 15th. The food was great and Murphy Roche Irish music school was the best I have heard in a long time. I visited the Coq d'Or again last night and they had a wonderful jazz session until midnight. I had a pint of Guinness and a Filet and it was no less than perfect! My server was Francisco and he did an excellent job!
