The Fifty/50
4.8
- Neighborhood: East Village / Ukrainian Village
- 2047 W. Division St.
- Chicago, IL 60622
- 773-489-5050
This slick Ukie Village bar and grill splits its sporty (there are a dozen flat-screen TVs in the space) yet upscale personality across three levels. Dig into hearty comfort food on the top floor, knock back a cold one and chat up the friendly bartenders on the main level or cozy up in the downstairs lounge’s spacious booths. We dig the custom beer cocktail list and the 40-ounce of the week, served in a brown paper bag. Although the numeric name sounds sporty—there are some professional baseball and football players involved with the project—the "fifty" and "50" actually refer to the industry vets who opened this spot. The comfort food menu features upscale touches and twists–for example, the four-pepper buffalo wing sauce is prepped and aged in-house (Brian Storey, who clocked kitchen time at Block 44 and Sidebar Grille is the top toque). Other food highlights include house-smoked meats like baby back ribs and pulled pork, plus mainstays like burgers, sandwiches and salads.

Nicki's Hot Spots
I enjoy most any type of place. Some of these spots are fancy and well known, others are hidden dive gems. Some are new as well, and I'm lovin it baby.
