Joe's Bar

I went to Joe's Bar last week twice and both days were so much fun. They have so many rooms, TV's, and great food. I love watching sports there. Joe's Bar has a better staff than most places. I lost my purse and coat that were both expensive and their staff found it and held on to it until I called about it. The Tuesday specials are the best of the city, quarter beers, $2.00 pitchers, and half off pizza's. No one can beat that. I always have fun, meet people, and can count on a good time with strangers at Joe's Bar. I have nothing bad to say about it. I guess I could be called a Joe's Bar regular. Visit Joe's yourself, especially if you have never been there. I promise its worth it! They have live concerts with big names like LeeAnn Rimes and Skid Row, and the best game watch environment in the city.
Report This ReviewMy friends and I head up to Joe's for all big football games, college and NFL. Every time we go there we have a great time! The service there is better than what you would get at most bars around the city. DJs play fun music, and funny halftime clips during games (More Cowbell!!) and the post-college crowd makes Joe's a MUST on gameday!
Report This ReviewWhile Joe's is a great place for music, the bar itself - from the ditzy waitresses to the brain-dead bartenders - is horrific!! Went to see Darius Rucker last night. The show was aweseome, but next time I will go for the music and LEAVE as quickly as possible. The food is awful, the service slow and RUDE RUDE RUDE, topped off by a 20 minute wait to get our car from the $12 valet!!! I'm not expecting 5 star food and service - but there are plenty of good bars in the area with decent food and TVs to catch a game. I'll be back for the music - but the college kids can have the bar!!!
Report This ReviewThis place was awful!! The people who go there are rude and obnoxious. I went there for a birthday party and we had ordered a couple pizzas and this guy just came over and started eating our food...that's disgusting!!! There were just way too many drunks there. I will NEVER go back!!!
Report This ReviewFive of us went last night (Thursday) to catch the Cubs/Phillies and the Bears games on TV. (Both Chicago teams were playing.) We were directed to the outdoor patio area because the inside was reserved for private parties. The outdoor bar has about a dozen or so TVs, none of which were showing the Cubs or the Bears.
A group of alumni (no more than 8) were there watching Iowa Stste vs S. Dakota State in college football. At best, 3 or 4 of the group were watching the game at all. The TVs around the outside bar were showing a Pittsburgh Steelers game, and 4 - 6 rabid Steelers fans were watching. The manager said he couldn't show the Cubs (or the Bears) because those few people "were there first."
ARE YOU KIDDING ME !??!? They'd rather show unheard of college teams or a pro team from another city rather than our First Place World Series Bound Chicago Cubs, or an early Chicago Bears game ???
Our waitress was pleasant, and the beer selection good but because of no coverage of either of the two televised Chicago teams we had to leave.....
Report This ReviewI love this place--especially Tuesday nights! The drinks aren't all that cheap, the food is good (get the nachos!) and the waitresses are cute. I love the outdoor seating area. Then we always head inside and dance the night away. They play a great mix of music (new and old!).

Report This ReviewThe bar is fun, but the food is really bad. Only the pizzas are decent. The cover is frustrating because you can never tell how much they will be charging, or when they will start charging. Several times I have tried to meet friends there, only to be met with a $10 or $15 cover charge.
Report This ReviewNormally Joe's is the spot to watch IU/Ill basketball and recently (for IU games) Usually $2-3 pitchers and recently free beer while IU played.
I never considered going elsewhere until Sat. Feb 10, when IU played Illinois. It seems Joe's saw this as a chance to squeeze out a few more bucks. Pitchers were $7, a far cry from previous game specials. The manager's explanation for not carrying any specials were: 1) "had a late night last night at the bar and didn't want to offer them" and 2) "since IU and Illinois fans get specials on their gamedays, we did not know which to offer, so we're not offering any
Seriously? Giving Kirkwood a try for the next couple of games
Report This ReviewI love Joes!! The quarter beers night is the best deal in town (plus all the hot Lincoln Park guys hang out here for sports games)!
