I recently hosted a surprise birthday party at the Cubby Bear in one of the private party rooms and everything was wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful and I did not have to stress about a thing. I never realized they had such a large party area, but I was completely satisfied and will definitely be going back!
Report This Reviewafter seating in the cubbie bear for 5 hours before and during sundays cub game, the management took the tables and chairs away to make room for fans coming in after the game. here my son and his friend from out of town are patronizing the place for 5hours and the they take your seats away, when they said this was wrong to do. the manager through them out. Needless to say they or myself will never again go into the cubby bear bar!
Report This ReviewWent there before the game this weekend. It was extremely crowded but we found a seat in a bar upstairs that we didn't know existed. Kelly was our waitress. Even though it was very busy, she was on top of things. We got our drinks just as fast as we would had the Cubs not been in town.
The food took awhile but that was expected.
All in all we had a great time.
Thanks Kelly and Cubby Bear. I'll definatly be back
Report This ReviewYou really have to rate this in 2 categories- game days (pre and post) and non-game days. Non game days/season I love this place, even pre-game time slots are appealing compare to post game atmosphere which is too crowded, too trendy, too cliched, to over priced, and too impersonal, from patrons to employees. At one time that didn't bother me, but each year the Cubby Bear has gone too far to appeal to the place-to-be'ers and spares no marketing schlock towards that end. Location makes the atmosphere second to none, but kills it value wise, again, mostly in season on game days. You can't beat it though when not dealing with that environment. Just take a serious wad of cash if you plan on drinking lots, and don't get delusions of grandeur. Remember, the waitresses work on tips.
