We went to Mecca Saturday night for a birthday celebration and had a wonderful time! The food was excellent (all you can eat ribs $11.95!!!), the staff was really nice and the place is super clean. I have been coming to the restaurant since the early 80's and even though it has changed through the years I still love it. They even called me on Sunday to thank us for spending our night there. You simply can't beat that!

Thanks to Metromix, we had a great anniversary night out - we found the true Mecca of fun in great old Edison Park. The moment you walk in, you know it's right.....you are in for a good evening. Okay, the food: spectacular pristine oysters, giant perfectly cooked shrimp for their cocktail offering, lovely two onion soup, crisp asparagus and last - OMG bread pudding! The chef owner has impressive credentials and is a truly friendly down-to-earth kind of guy. Our server was perfect- there when you want her, open to chatting and beautifully empathetic to our stories and occasion.......and then fun when the establishment turns to oh boy kareoke! The bartenders are also friendly and knowledgable, even about the history o the area, which I loved!! Cannot wait to go back for liver and onions or walleye pike or steaks and more oysters!!!!!! Big time fun here.

I first discovered this deliciously unique intimate restaurant about 8 - 9 years ago...and was impressed then. I have never had a waitress that wasn't extremely KIND and ATTENTIVE. Then about 4-5 years ago, I dscovered how the place converts into a mini dance/kareoke party and the tables clear out and the real fun begins. It's a warm-hearted place with good music and hilarious memories. Perect non-threatening place to go for a local girls-nite-out. You can forgo downtown or the burbs, when Mecca is the best fit for a Good Time where you will ALWAYS run into someone you know!! That could be good or that could be bad ! hee hee! Check it out, but no matter how old you are, NEVER ever forget your ID, cuz they take a photo of it and wont let you in otherwise, even if you are obviously OVER THE HILL, that part I cant really understand but that's okay, place is worth it. Also, its not a pick-up place or meat-market, which is another reason why the Girls and I frequent the place. Just wish I knew how to SING! Dance, now that I can do!!!

This is a great, old fashioned supper club. Less yuppie than the rest of Edison Park is getting to be. Friendly people. Food and service is great although prices are a little higher than the $15 on your review. Their bartender makes the best martinis on the northwest side.

I am big on service. You get greeted right away here. The food is good, the seating is comfortable. The prices are good. All bars have their own character, this place is a neighboorhood, relaxing spot till the evenings, then it gets fun. Great service.

Had a great evening at the bar followed by a fabulous dinner in the dining room with some friends who usually get together downtown but went on a recommendation.The prime rib was quite tender and tasty as was my friends fried lake perch. We had a full array of appetizers before dinner and finished very satisfied. For a real treat we stayed for an after dinner drink only to find out that once dinner is done the dining room gets converted into a nightclub type of atmosphere and a dj spins karaoke and retro danc tunes till closing. Will be back again for sure.

The service was very good, the prices fair, the atmosphere relaxing, but the food was very mediocre. Don't think we will try it again.
