So why is it called the Frog Bar? "My grandfather, whose nickname was Frog, was a general in the British Army, Bruce "Frog" Hay." says Hugo's dapper owner, Hugo Ralli, who also runs Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse next door. "So we figured, they've got The Monkey Bar in New York, we'll outdo them." When Hugo's first opened, patrons came in asking for the restaurant's namesake item. At the time, frog legs weren't on the menu. Now they are featured as both an appetizer and an entree.

The menu changes daily and features day boat seafood and shellfish. The crab cakes, seared tuna steak and Maine lobster are mainstays, with, of course, the frog legs. The same prime steaks featured at Gibsons are also available here, including the W.R. Chicago cut (bone-in ribeye) and the porterhouse. Sides include sauteed spinach and a double baked potato. The desserts are gigantic, so plan on sharing.
