The coldest bottle of beer I ever had in Chicago!

We stopped in Carol's before getting on the red line for a Sox game. The bartender wasn't friendly, but she wasn't rude either, she just wasn't a tourist bum-kisser. I liked it. We all ordered bottled beer, and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was the cooooldest beer ever! I am not sure if the magic freeze is brought on by the lack of pretension that looks like ice-queenishness to fancy heads, but I liked being in this dive and I plan to go back before any shows I see at the Aragon.

Carol's pub is not getting the credit it deserves. It is a fantastic bar. I go there every weekend till 5am like clockwork. Please come and check it out, the live band is probably the greatest thing that I have ever seen, granted, I am a drunkard.

We hated this bar! ...

We hated this bar! The staff was extremely rude to us. I have never been treated so poorly a customer. We stopped into this bar for a couple of drinks. We weren't allowed to move a chair to sit with our group. We were ignored at the bar and weren't served. The bouncers had huge chips on our shoulders. We were really excited to hear about Carol's Pub, but unfortunately, we will no longer support this business.

go on Wed. nite to hear Claude's band. Riva the diva who plays on weekends hates smoke and will bug you about it. Also it doesn't get as crowded on Wed.
