Karolinka Club
4.0
As the successor to the famous Baby Doll Polka Club, Karolinka Club is less comely but feels more Polish than its predecessor. Named after a character in a traditional Polish song, Karolinka's big draw is its occasional Silesian night, when folks from the Silesia region in southwestern Poland gather to eat, tell stories and sing old Polish songs. Owners plan to open the kitchen soon, serving regular pub fare through the week and more traditional meals, such as potato dumplings with red cabbage salad, on weekends. As one owner promised, "We be cooking from the scratch." Let's hope food prices are as cheap as the beer: a bottle of Tyskie sells for just $2. Located near the end of a Midway Airport runway, beware of low-flying passenger jets.
