South Loop club The Shrine celebrated its grand opening June 4 by kicking off its monthly Eyes Wide Shut series, in which a mystery performer takes the stage at some point during the night. Though just days before, owner Joe Russo spilled the beans that Slick Rick would be the special guest for the first EWS (to show folks the caliber of talent they'd be having at this event going forward, he says) he promises they'll keepthe performers hush-hush, as intended, from now on.
