Despite rumors, this place is not closed and far from it! We dined there last night and the experience exceeded my expectations entirely. The ambiance was fun; very Saturday night, with a live dj spinning music that was neither too loud nor too techno-y. Our server was polite and informative, but clearly having fun at her job, too. She suggested the lamb as one of her favorite entrees, and although its not something I usually consider (and this is a costal Latin place, I was planning on fish), I took a gamble and WON! It was perfectly cooked and truely exciting to eat. Dont miss the ceviche, and fish tacos which I want more of right now, My husband loved the Salmon entree with quinoa and the tomato salad with cucumber sorbet, crazy! Thanks to Melanie for great recommendations and we will dine here again!

So I have been to DLC twice, and the service is horrible. Last time we went for lunch and there were only three tables in the restaurant and it took 2 hours to get our food! Literally. The food was good- but NOT worth a 2 hour wait- especially for chicken sandwiches and salads.
The waiter was very cocky and not helpful. It took 3 waiters and 20 minutes to get a side of mayo. I would NEVER go here again!

I went on Sunday with six people and the wine bottles were 50% off. The Civiche was amazing and so fresh. The food was a delight and the service was some of the best I have ever had. The deserts are delicious works of art. It's a little pricy but we paid 700 with tip for 6 people and we all had wine, our own starters etc.. so I don't think it's over the top. You get what you pay for and I loved this place!

Food was great, we loved the ceviches. I had scallops which were big and well prepared, the pork, steak and tuna dishes also got great reviews by our table. Dessert wasn't great, would skip it next time. Service is good but a little slow. The dinner was expensive but we thorougly enjoyed ourselves.

The place is huge and really nice, the pricing is ridiculous. I don't mind paying $$$ for good food. But when I'm paying >$30 for a meal I expect to get a meal, not something the size of an appetizer. Go there for appetizers, not for food. My husband and I left there having spent $160 for the two us and then went to go get some food right after. It deserves one star, second star is for the good appetizers.

Our first visit was brief and we only had time for a drink and an appetizer but we were impressed by the food. The Cheviche dish 'Fire and Ice' ,apprpriately named, caught our attention for its intricate and effective results. Service (at the bar) was competent, cordial, and knew the menu.
Our return visit allowed us explore the menu for dinner, which we did with abandon. A good bet is the 'Trio of Cheviche' , where for $24, one chooses that many options from the first overleaf of the menu, median range $10.
Our entrees were equally tasteful and well presented. She had the Jerked chicken, which is somewhat of a misnomer, considering the dish lacked some of the essential ingredients and heat of an authentic Jamacian jerk, but that would'nt play in the midwest anyhow.
My entree of the Crispy Crackling Pork was unlike any pork dish I've ever had! The outer layer of th pork was indeed crispy and crackling; I could hear the crunch in my ears. The unexpected contrast was that the meat, pork mind you, literally melted in my mouth! On the first couple of tastes I thought I'd picked up a rogue piece of fat or marrow.
Though the lighting was dim (and the "music"/conversational noise level somewhat distracting), I could tell that he generous portion in front of me, I've tasted something like never before.
For dessert, the Chocolate cigar is a MUST.
loooking like an expensive Cohiba, all the way down to the paper wrapper on a tray with chocolate ganache assembled to look like ashes, down to a spun sugar and cinnamon "matchbook". Perhaps one of the most innovative dessert presentations I have ever seen.
Executive Chef Alan Schlop was very gracious and forthcoming on a busy Saturday night and Lezlie, the lovely front-of-the-house manager, saw to every detail as I had made special arrangements for my wife's 50th birthday party.
In case toy haven't yet figured this out, I am a chef and sometimes I think my wife has a better palate than I. Fact is, we has a good time and a great meal.
I recommend this restaurant. Highly.
Notes
* reservations - highly recommended on weekends
* disabled access may be awkward
* conversation levlel - distracting due to level of soundtrack - depends on who is at table next to you.

It may be me lack of experience with hoity-toity restaurants but when you make a reservation for 6 people for Valentine's Day is not usual practice for the restaurant to notify you that for that day only they will be DOUBLING the price of their entrees? Some things went from $28 to $50. And I can't even begin to describe how rude the staff was! Needless to say, I can't comment on the food because we didn't stay. We went down the street to Niu instead and had terrific service and amazing food at half the cost.

We went with a few friends last night, and had a wonderful time at delacosta. Great drinks, as well as a very attentive server who helped guide us through good ceviche choices and entrees. I certainly would recommend delacosta for a fun night out.

Went here for my sister-in-laws birthday. Was a little empty when we got there, but the place filled up quickly. Our group of four shared the cheese and meat, ceviche trio, and mini tacos for apps. Mini tacos were excellent! Ceviche trio was too small for the four of us. Ordered the marlin for entree and it was excellent. The prices were between $25-$35 for entrees which I think was a little pricey. Our waiter was great. He gave us a great run down of the menu and even made some good recommendations. Oh yeah, the margarita was average for its size and price.
