Worst service ever. Will NEVER go back. Short pours, mean barmaides, condencending managers. Bad in every way.

incredible food! neighborhood needed this place!

villain's has alot of style, great beer, a pool table, AND some of the best pub food in the city! kuma's look out the competition is shutting your burger down. i've seen girls fight over who gets the last bite. ladies, don't be dainty get your own. the kitchen is run by a scratch cook with an impressive culinary background. if you're lucky you'll be there on a day when the smoker is going. yes kids, hickory smoked pulled pork and cherry wood smoked pulled chicken leaves the place smelling like a little bit of oh-so-devilish heaven.
if the food isn't enough to hook you, check out their continually rotating list of beers on tap. the owners are very present and very into providing good product. stop in and see what they have in-store next.

My favorite bar

My favorite bar in Chicago. The microbrews are great and priced even better! And I have read some of the reviews about the service, which in some cases I must agree, for some reason they aren't to concerned about food sales. Though I will say that I have had the burgers and they are great. Finally a cook puts some seasoning on something! Just go to the bar and say you want to order some food, it works. Great DJ on saturday nights and generally great deals all week. The decor is also a big plus. The place is goes up and down with how many people show up, one weekend it's packed and the next there might just be a handful, either way it's a great place to have a great drink.

worst bar in south loop!

i have been to this bar several times and villain's never ceases to fulfill my lowest possible expectations. first you are greeted with rude and shameless door staff (why is this necessary when the most crowded the place gets is 10 patrons?) but their pushy behavior despite any discernible motivation is completely unacceptable. the crowd is an absolute bore and it lacks any semblance of character of personality whatsoever. do yourself a favor and stay away from this place at all costs there are many other quality bodega's in the south loop.

Great food, great atmosphere, horrible service

We have been regulars on the weekend and have been pretty impressed until we went on a weekday. The first time the waitress was new so we cut her some slack, my wife use to wait tables. The second time we went in for Wednesday wings and PBR specials. We sat for an hour for two beers, no food, and poor service. We finally got sick of waiting for our food and asked for it to go. To shorten the story we left without all of our food because it had been close to an hour and a half. I will never go back and that’s too bad because we live in the neighborhood. Sorry Villains, but you have some of the worst service I have even had. We will not be back anytime soon.

Good time, great food!

My friend had her birthday party at villains last friday and we had a blast! We had the back section of the bar to ourselves, for awhile, that was nice. The food was great, I tried the mac & cheese bites, and taquitos both really good, but the bacon cheddar burger was the best I've had in a long time. The drinks were good, and they had alot of different beers on tap. The staff was fun, and the music chill. Everybody had a great time from what I remember. I will be back again to hang out.

South Loop Needed a Bar Like This

Simple bar with a cool decor. Reminds me a bit of the Long Room at Irving Park and Ashland. Staff is friendly, drinks are favorable, nice beer selection on tap -- the place has a good vibe.

What A Find
By EVILMEG from WESTLOOP, January 20, 2008

I was excited to come accros this location while thumbing through new locations in Chicago. The location great to South Loopers and Near West Side residents, as well as those residing near the river area. The service was great, the decor reminded me of mod touched with a bit of old school Chicago. The ambiance picked up as the night drew on and a great variety of well made cocktails and ice cold, cold beer. It is what I have been craving since I left the southside and "Hizzoner" Daley has been closing down all of the cool spots. Thanks for a great night!! WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was excited to try this place on a friend's recommendation. I work only a block away and was excited at the prospect of not having to enjoy my afterwork drink at Kasey's which has become bloated and overcrowded. So, my friend and I walk into the place around 5:45 and it's completely empty. We sit down at the bar and are ignored for a few minutes while the guy behind the counter messes with the computer. When he turned around he looked surprised to see us. My friend ordered a Stella and I asked for the same. Five minutes later the bartender (if that's what you want to call him) comes back with one full beer and gives it to my friend. What do I get? Half a beer with the rest of the glass filled with foam. I got a half of a beer for $5. I then sat there for 20 minutes with an empty glass and no offer for a refill or something else. It appeared that they were maybe having trouble with the Stella tap, but damn! You should explain to me that the tap isn't working and offer to get me something else. Don't serve me half a beer and ask me to pay for it! So we left and went to the South Loop Club where we ended up spending a lot of money because they were able to provide us with service and drinks worth paying for.

I do have to say that the place looks cool, but based on thius experience, that's the only thing good it has going for it. Maybe they should invest in better bartenders. I'd rather be served in a crowded bar than ignored in an empty one. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

the decor, the sexy bartender, the totally reasonable drinks.... only some of the reasons to hit this place. if you're a columbia kid or just a young professional come to this spot for gppd drinks, friendly staff and sexy tunes..whatever that means to you... hot girls sometimes dance on the bar, what could be better than that?
