The beer prices are average, but their food is way over priced. Not that good either. I'll go back for beers, but will never eat there.
Report This Reviewi keep going back to the winds because of it's location, but come on. $12 for chicken fingers? seriously? and a crabby barkeep (no matter which one it is) who makes it very obvious that making your drink is a chore. i like the live music in this place, and the rice and beans are really good--but apart from that, the winds makes me crabby, too.
Report This ReviewTried this place after hearing great things from several sources. Not the first time i've paid almost $10 for a watered down mixed drink, but how disappointing! And i have to agree-- if you're charging a pretentious $11.50 for a so-so burger, you don't get to serve Miller Lite. I'm curious as to where all the cash is going too, as the place obviously hasn't been redecorated since lord-knows-when. Save your $$ and stay home...
Report This Review$11.50 for a hamburger, you must be out of your mind!
PS - $4.00 for a Miller High Life
Report This ReviewIf you have lots-o-time to kill, feel like being left alone, and enjoy having your self-absorbed, hipster waitress A) largely ignore you (even though a total of 6 people were in the place)...and B) condescend to you when she eventually gets around to noticing you.....then this is the place for you!! The night we stopped in, the food was decent for bar food, but for the prices charged, definitely not worth dealing with the attitude when there are way too many other places in the neighborhood with better food and WAY better service.....and for some odd reason it took 30 minutes to cook and deliver 2 sandwiches.....a big no from us.
Report This ReviewThis is a great neighborhood hangout. They have excellent selection of cuisines, especially the Jamaican, Cuban and Perto Rican. Great music, great staff, great value. Go There!
Report This ReviewSomeone did something right here.. from the moment you walk in you feel a kind of Dejavu. From the food to the "Very" generous mixed drinks..it's all good here.
There's an overall feeling that just like you...people are people. Without a doubt I'll be going back...love the real atmosphere!
The Winds Cafe seems to dedicated to creating a community. The owner obviously keeps an eye on every patron, and the bartender is just adorable. Plus, I love the open mics and live music. Good people; a growing scene in Logan Square.
Report This ReviewThis is a nice neighborhood bar, period. The owners are very nice and they always remember your name. "Winds" is probably one of the most diverse neighborhood bars in the segregated Chicago land area. What it lacks in glitz and glamour, it more then makes up for in hospitality.
