went to their Anniversary party last night .... Had a BLAST!!
Got there early and took advantage of the free drinks from 8-10pm, they had free beer (miller and coors light drafts) and vodka drinks too... thought that was pretty cool and nice of them. service was pretty fast considering how crowded it was.
The highlight of the night was that they had HAIRBANGERS BALL perform! It was something different and alot of fun... I live in the area and come her often on the weekends.. staff is always super nice ...Happy anniversary you guys rock!!
Weekend crowded bar, but you'll see the owner yelling on his staff. The hottest bartender was his girlfriend and they were yelling to each other. The girl was so mean to her servers and customers. She was so angry and made everyone uncomfortable with her behavior.
Report This ReviewGreat bar, beautiful decor. Fun crowd, great music and strong drinks! I highly recommend.
Report This ReviewLoved it from the minute I walked in the door. Granted it was an early Tuesday night and business was slow. There were only two other tables. The feel that you get when you walk in the door is warmth and very cozy. I really liked the design with all the slick wood and stained glass lighting. I tried their buffalo wings and the sauce was amazing. Their Burger was very good as well. The waffle fries could use a bit more spunk but other than that I was impressed by the food. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. I never caught her name though. I want to come back on the weekend and see what the crowd is like. I consider myself hard to please and The Pony passed my test. I live in Old Town, so it's a little out of my way but I look forward to going back.
Report This ReviewThis place is very cool...
I visited The Pony a few weeks after they opened their doors. Their beer selection is vast, as they have a wonderful selection of draft beers on tap. Their burgers are very good, tasted as advertised in the menu: Select cut Angus beef. How can you go wrong with that?
The staff is really nice, which includes the bouncers at the door.
There are mini-flat screens at every table, which a friend and I enjoyed very much. We were able to watch a Sox game, while others took in the Cubs game. Everyone was at peace...
Report This ReviewWent on a Friday at 10 and was lucky to get a table. There are 2 door guys who were really cool which in addition to the clientelle and dance music, gave it a really clubby vibe. Wasn't really expecting that but the place looks fantastic. Buffalo Chix sliders were great, filet sliders not so hot. Lots of young kids which made my 36yo self feel kinda old.
Report This ReviewFrom Sunday brunch to Tuesday "Rib Night," The Pony has fantastic food. My girlfriends and I have gone at least once a week since they opened, and Chef Curtis McGhee has the market cornered on Southern comfort food with a big-city flair. Don't miss it!
