One of the best bars in Chicago!!!

I believe that The Mutiny is the best punk club in Chicago, and one of the best bars overall in Chicago. The dive bar atmosphere is fantastic. I always enjoy playing tthere & seeing bands play there. Ed is one of the best bar owners in Chicago, he treats the musicians & patrons very well. Whenever a band from out of town I know asks me a good local place to play, I ALWAYS suggest The Mutiny. And I make sure that whenever I have friends from out of town come in, I make sure to take them to The Mutiny to show them what Chicago is really like!!!!

Hey, it's a dive bar with free bands and real people, nothing clubby or hipster about it. Reminds me a bit of Dreamerz from way back (for you other old farts).

Virtually no seating,a higher price on a drink when live musicians are present with or without talent.
A decent bartender, but understaffed the night I was in.
I'm sure the owner is laughing all the way to the bank. Faux indie.

It may not be for everyone, but the Mutiny is the best dive bar in Chicago. Great (free) live music too. Cheap beer, friendly bartenders. Check it out.

Ed, the owner, runs a tight ship. Maybe you can't tell, because The Mutiny IS a hole in wall bar, but he does. He knows his customers and he takes care of them. The Mutiny is the perfect dive bar--good drink prices, homey feel, decent people, very good service. Their monthly karaoke is a strange mix of regulars and people who walk in off the street...It's a completely good time.
