Amazing

So all my friends have been telling me to try out Grand Central if not for the people at least for the specials. So I finally did...and I deffinitly regret not coming in sooner. The staff are so nice and welcoming. The food came out reasonably quickly and surprisingly was really good and affordable. I came during the week after work so it wasn't to busy but it is what I have been looking for. Not to mention i'll take $3 sangria anyday! AMAZING Drink Specials! AMAZING staff!! LOVED it...

too crowded

have been here a cpl times, most recently last Saturday. they play decent music, but it is ALWAYS SUPER CROWDED and the bar is understaffed. can wait as long as 20-25 minutes for a drink; and its not the bartenders fault - they work hard, just too many ppl for such a slim staff...

...usually try to avoid this place as much as possible...

Good $5 martinis on Fridays
By ktu84 from wrigleyville, July 30, 2008

Overall rating:

I went to this place on a Friday night and had a few martinis with friends. The drinks were good and they were and excellent price. This bar is a college hangout because it is so close to DePaul's campus. If you don't mind hanging out with a younger crowd its a fun place.

Fun place, good girls, reasonable prices

Grand Central is a fun place. The layout is nice, but it does get too crowded along the bar at times. The music is alright, and the scenery is excellent. Lots of cute girls, and a mix of ages...mostly people in their 20's. Great place to check out any night of the weekend. Gets more crowded after about 11:30PM.

Great Place to PaRTY!

Lots of fun on the weekends! Make sure your waitress is blonde tho. Seems like all the blonde waitresses are great! Had a server who was brunette - she was rude, annoying and slow.

Great Place for a Party
By Chicago24 from Lincoln Park, October 22, 2007

My friends and I (about 30 of us) had an all you can drink special there. We had a couple booths and had a great time, great music. The waitress was wonderful, always checking on us. The door staff was friendly to all of us.

We will go back again.

Not a place for Cubs fans
By RoyK from Lincoln Park, September 27, 2007

Overall rating:

On a recent outing to Grand Central I asked that the Cubs game be turned on in the back bar where no one was at the time I made the request. The bar tender looked at me as though she never heard of changing channels. When the manager came around I justified my request by explaining that the Cubs were in a pennant race, so every game was important, but as I said no one was back there anyway. In response the manager said, "I don't care about the Cubs"!!!!. I couldn't believe it. 1. It doesn't matter if he likes them, he doesn't have to watch; 2. I can't believe anyone that works for a group of bars that makes so much money in Wrigley would admit he doesn't care. When he finally agreed to put on the game, istead of turning it on, he initiated a conversation on a different subject with the bartender.

Not a place for Cubs fans or anyone that wants any semblance of decent service. I went to Wrightwood tap instead!!!

This dreadful place does not...
By superbad from Chicago, IL, September 9, 2007

This dreadful place does not deserve a generous 1 star. My friends & I reluctantly settled here as a last resort on Sun. to watch the Bears. Once inside the empty bar, the staff promptly declared the Packers game was on and would continue to be if it went into overtime. Grabbed a booth & a waitress stopped by shortly only to collect her tip from the previous group. Sat for 20 minutes before finally flagging down another server. When we asked that the Bears game be shown on the TVs near our table (shocking we had to make this seemingly reasonable request), remote control man scoffed saying people were watching the other games-impossible, invisible people surely wouldn't want to watch Detroit/Oakland. Absolutely horrible. Particularly awful on weekend nights with persistently obnoxious fake line. Terrible place to watch Sun. football. Mystified by arrogant staff & non-existent service.
