Price range: $$ ($9-$15)

The Globe may sound international, but its feet are planted firmly in British soil. Owner Jamie Hale of Ginger's Ale House and partner Stuart Johnston transformed the old Lyons Den space into a warm, welcoming neighborhood pub. Real dartboards and smattering of globes add to the atmosphere, complete with dark-stained oak trim and vintage framed beer posters. The menu is heavy on British pub grub like fish 'n' chips, bangers 'n' mash and shepherd's pie--with a small nod to warmer parts of the globe in the form of quesadillas. You'll find 20 beers on draft, including Guinness, Stella Artois, Boddingtons and Young's new St. George's Ale. Or get cozy with a Naughty Girl Scout (mint chocolate chip 'tini) or The Godfather (classic gin 'tini). But the real draw here is international sports. Fans of footie--that's soccer to us Yanks--can catch their favorite team on one of the 10 plasma TVs. The bar opens as early as 6 a.m. for live broadcasts of rugby matches and Premiership League soccer. Traditional English breakfast served daily.
