The Wicker Park/Bucktown landscape has changed dramatically over the years, and there’s an extremely eclectic crowd to show for it. That’s exactly what you’ll find when you wander into this 4 a.m. tavern in the Flat Iron Arts Building. “What we’re hoping to do is create a place that’s Wicker Park,” says owner Nick Novich, who’s also behind neighborhood joints Nick’s Beer Garden, Nick’s Uptown and Nick’s on Wilson. What was once The Note, a live music venue known for hosting hip-hop DJs and punk, rock and funk outfits, is now a straight-up tavern. Period. To add some flair, local artists covered the walls in urban art, murals and funky graffiti-style paintings. Grab a cold one and settle in for some conversation, or pick some tunes on the jukebox and rack 'em up on the pool tables.

Personally, I think it sucks that The Note no longer exists. But then again we did need a ANOTHER tavern in Wicker park....

You knov that this bar must be good by simply taking a look at its owner. Great local art, 3 clean pool tables, and a 4am cutoff.... tough to beat...
