Stop in this West Loop saloon for a cold beer and a Southern-tinged eats. A fieldstone-lined fireplace, wood-paneled walls and tables fashioned from whiskey barrels all give a healthy nod toward the bar's country roots. It's named after The Legend of the CrossRoads, which tells the story of a Mississippi Delta blues man who sells his soul at midnight; in fact, you'll find the scene depicted in a mural behind the bar.
Start with hearty appetizers such as hush puppies or artichoke dip and move on to Maker's Mark-glazed pork chops, pan-friend catfish or the slightly spicy pulled pork sandwich. On tap, you'll find seasonal brews from Goose Island, Three Floyds and Bell's, plus some harder-to-find draft picks such as Abita Purple Haze and Young's Chocolate Stout. Cocktailing sticks to classics such as old-fashioneds, manhattans and lemonade spiked with sweet tea-infused vodka.

In my opinion, this is the strongest of the Third Rail / Beer Bistro / Plush / Crossroads crowd. Can't go wrong with Purple Haze on tap.
