I read the previous review about beer specials and college crowds, and what my friends and I found on a weekday night was your typical dive bar, for better or worse.
Decent prices on pitchers, although not huge selection (general domestics and heineken at the time). Great group of locals, very nice, mostly in their 30's and 40's. The bar itself is alright, very simple, older decorations. They do have a newer jukebox, but I was disappointed to find that they didn't have any games (darts or pool)...which in my opinion is needed for a local bar. I also thought there'd be more UofC students, but no one around on this particular night except for one small group. No bar food either; sorely missed.
Report This ReviewThe best bar in Hyde Park. A bit of a dive, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Great value ($6 pitchers every day), comfortable atmosphere, AWESOME jukebox... The perfect neighborhood bar.
My only complaints - it can get a little smokey, and there is no kitchen. If they served food, this would be the greatest bar ever!
