Stanley's Kitchen and Tap
- Neighborhood: Lincoln Park
- 1970 N. Lincoln Ave.
- Chicago, IL 60614
- 312-642-0007
- Price range: $ (Under $9)
Like its name implies, Stanley's splits itself into a kitchen in the back (eclectically decorated like a family den with photos, quilts, bowling trophies and children's drawings) and a tap in the front (where entertainment comes in the form of TVs, a jukebox, or the popular live band karaoke).
But mostly, Stanley’s is known for a down-home attitude and hearty comfort food. “We serve large quantities of good, quality food at low prices,” says bar manager Art Moore. Daily specials are posted on the chalkboard out front; the all-you-can-eat weekend brunch buffet is especially popular.
A family-friendly restaurant during the week, Stanley’s undergoes a bit of a transformation on weekend nights, catering to a boisterous and energetic crowd that turns its focus to the bar. Tired of what’s playing on the jukebox? Live band karaoke every Sunday gives you the chance to take the mic and give it your best shot—celebs and well-known musicians like Kid Rock and Eddie Vedder have even been known to show up and show off.
