worst evening ever

i was taking my girlfriend on our 6 month anniversary the waterboy hit on my girl friend then we got the water and there were piece of black dirt in the water and then i orderd a beer and it was flat i asked for a new one and they gave me attitude we got our food it was cold and probally one of the most horrible and rude service of my entire life anyone who doesnt want to spend $7 on a burger mcdonalds taste better then dont go here

Love this place! The bartendars are always so fastastic and I was so pleasantly surprised by the wonderful BBQ. I had not eaten here until this week and ordered the pulled pork sandwich and collard greens. Both were EXCELLENT and huge portions of both. My fiance loved the ribs and bakes beens. We'll be back for the food and drinks! This place has a great comfort-level, atmostphere, service, drinks and food!

I heard positive things about this bar so my girlfriend and I decided to check it out. I had previously called because I knew the restaurant was primarily BBQ and my girlfriend is a vegetarian so I wanted to know what other options they had. Whoever answered my phone call told me there were options and hung up. I gained no knowledge of what these options were, but still decided to go. Besides the beer selection the food wasn't good and unless you wanted a grilled-cheese I wouldn't waste your time if you are vegetarian. The staff wasn't knowledgeable of the beer and had mediocre answers when asked. Needless to say I will not be going back anytime soon.

If the mark of a good bar is having your friends stop in or being friends with the staff Sheffield's wins out the most friendly staff around I am friends with about half of them, it is a great place. If you never been there you have to give it a try. The food is good and the bar itself is excellent four different bars on the weekends. If the front gets to crowded just go to one of the other ones if you like it relaxed.

It's been a loooooooooooooong time since I've been to Sheffield's. Maybe 10 years? Since I've been there last, they've changed their menu! Their red pepper hummus is fantastic, as well as their fish tacos. They still have a huge selection of beer. And you can't beat sitting out in their beer garden before and after Cubs Games. I'll definitely be back!

Very Disappointing

We were VERY disappointed in this place. We heard great things, so we were excited to try it out. I admit, they have a great beer selection, but the food and service is TERRIBLE. The food was very over-priced and not good at all. The service was worse. It took forever to even order and then even longer to ever get someone to come back by. The restrooms were also disgusting. This may be a great place to drink with friends but a terrible place to eat.

I was at the Cubs game and decided to grab a few drinks with friends after the game. All the usual suspects were crowded (cubby bear, moran's), so we decided to go to Sheffield's. Walked in and the place was pretty full, but what really shicked me was how friendly everyone was from the door guy, to our server. Usually we expect to wait for someone to acknowledge us at any wrigley bar, but this was completely different. They have a huge beer list (almost too big), and great food too. If you wanna get away from the frat boys, go here. New favorite bar in lakeview.

wow, if you like good beer this is the place for you. 20+ draft & 160+ bottles. allagash, 2bros cane & able, 3fd's gumballhead, maudite, founders rubaeus, oh and a little beer company called SURLY!!!! the staff knows their beers for the most part, the beer garden is huge, and the fish tacos are awesome!
