We live down the block and have had food and drinks here many times- this place is great. The food is better than you think it's going to be; I love the vegan burgers and my boyfriend always orders the cheesy beef sandwich. We both agree that for brunch, their Morseland Eggs Benedict is the best we've ever had-- delicious crab cakes on top of eggs and English muffins with fried artichokes and creole hollandaise. A little heavy but SO amazing. The beer selection is above-average and there are mimosa specials on the weekends. Another plus is the live music pretty much every night.
Report This ReviewThis Bar and Restaurant embraces the ecclectic culture of Rogers Park! The food is great from their cafe salads, crab cakes, jumbalaya, and root vegetable stew. They do all food well. The entertainment is superb! We have seen blues, jazz, rap/hip hop, and even transgender entertainment. If you go with an open mind you won't be disappointed.
Report This ReviewI celebrated my 33rd birthday at Morseland on Friday 4/14/06 with 15 of my friends and family and we had an AWESOME TIME! Tamara our server was an Angel. (Thanks for having a birthday shot of tequila with me Tamara!) The White Chocolate Martini,MM Manhattan, the Shrimp & Artichoke Bake and the Chipotle Buffalo Shrimp were great! DJ Teebot spun house, reggae, hip hop, soul and steppin music. (Bravo Teebot!!) I was so toasted from all those potent drinks that I had forgotten my gift bag of scented candles there but the staff was kind enough to secure them for me, so my husband and I picked them up the next day. We went back on 4/17/06 (Sunday) for brunch and had the jambalaya omelette and French toast with cream cheese and bananas which were Deeeelish!! Needless to say I'd highly recommend Morseland for chillin out with your sweet heart or kickin' it with a group of good friends. :-)

Report This ReviewFound this place thru a recommendation from a coffeehouse down the street and am glad we made it here. The menu is extensive, the waitstaff friendly and efficient, price is reasonable. I liked the outdoor seating although when we were there, there was a panhandler asking for money (not the restaurant's fault, of course). The blackened chicken sandwich was delicious; boyfriend preferred it over his portabella mushroom sandwich although it was tasty too. The spinach salad was nice and fresh; however, the asparagus was the thinnest I'd ever seen; it looked more like string beans. Overall, liked the place and will definitely come again.
