Don't let the Halsted Street address fool you -- this spin-off of Morgan's Bar and Grill is right on the corner of Maxwell and Halsted Streets in the old Maxwell Street Market area (now called University Village Marketplace). The woody, window-filled room features a copper ceiling above the 35-seat bar, vintage-style chandeliers, old-school black and white photos of the Maxwell Street area and 12 flatscreen TVs. The kitchen's massive pizza oven can kick out about 100 thin crust pizzas an hour; there's also American fare such as ribs, fried chicken, salads, sandwiches, steaks and seafood. There are 24 beers on tap, with a focus on microbrews and imports, plus a specialty cocktail list with plenty of martini choices.
