Moonshine

Neighborhood: East Village / Ukrainian Village
1824 W. Division St.

Chicago, IL 60622

Old Wisconsin barn boards cover the walls and two murals of Prohibition-era bootleggers hover above Moonshine's two glowing red bars, where cocktails served in glass jars are the drinks of choice. Thanks to an in-bar brewery added in spring 2008, Moonshine brews are a popular pick, too. On nights when DJs spin, expect to feel the bass pumping through your body as the volume dial gets turned way up. During summer months, locals spend the day and night cocktailing on the sidewalk cafe. Love New Mexico green chilies? The owners hope so. You can get them on your burger, in your omelet, on their own or with pretty much anything else the kitchen cooks up; other menu options include blackened catfish, fajitas, ribeye steak and thin-crust pizzas.
